The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has filed a case against Apple over the fact that the company forbade informing buyers of applications in the App Store about alternative payment methods. The service claims that in this way, the company "is abusing its dominant position in the distribution market for iOS applications." At the end of August, the FAS issued a warning to Apple about the elimination of violations. The company was supposed to eliminate them no later than September 30th but did not do this. Apple could face a turnover penalty on market revenue.

"Apple did not comply with the warning, in connection with which the FAS Russia opened a case on violation of antimonopoly laws against the company. If Apple is found to have violated the Law on the Protection of Competition, it could face a turnover fine on the amount of revenue in the market," the FAS website said.

According to FAS, Apple requires developers to remove links to their Internet resources and change the application's functionality so that the registration form does not lead to external site.
