Brazilian Granja Faria acquired a controlling stake in Spain’s Grupo Hevo. With revenues of around €180 million, Grupo Hevo ranks as Spain’s second-largest egg producer, operating four brands and 15 farms across several regions, including Catalonia, the Basque Country, Madrid, and Valencia.
Grupo Hevo maintains a flock of about 4 million birds, producing 3 million eggs daily and employing roughly 500 people.
Granja Faria is the biggest egg producer in Brazil with a total of 3.7 million housed birds. The company owns 12 hatching egg farms, 11 production farms of table eggs and 5 egg factories. Granja Faria has been exporting for more than 18 countries.
“The group’s internationalization reflects the maturity and consolidation of our business, which is gaining traction and visibility on the global stage. We’re starting with Spain, but our goal is to replicate our success in Brazil and lead in every country we enter,”
Granja Faria CEO Ricardo Faria said, focusing on southern European markets.
In March this year, Granja Faria signed an agreement to acquire Brazilian egg producer Vitagema in a deal worth R$36 million ($7.2 million). Prior to that, the company invested R$60 million in the expansion of BL Ovos, which it acquired last year.
