The Federal Antimonopoly Service has opened a case against Google, the agency said. "According to the department, the company is abusing its dominant position in the market for video hosting services YouTube. Google's actions lead to sudden blocking and deletion of user accounts," the publication states.
It is noted that the reason for the investigation was the statement of the regional public organization "Center for Internet Technologies", which complained about the blocking, deletion of accounts and content on YouTube.
The department noted that the rules of the service are opaque, biased and unpredictable, which leads to sudden restrictions without warning and justification. This can lead to infringement of the interests of users, as well as to limit competition.
As part of the consideration of the case, FAS Russia will assess the actions of Google LLC and their consequences for the audience and content creators.
