The Service actively participated in discussions surrounding a document outlining the priority areas for joint work among competition authorities of UN member states over the next five years.

The approved priority topics include the development of international cooperation in law enforcement and the exchange of best practices with competition authorities from developing countries, as well as ensuring fair competition in digital markets in light of advancements in artificial intelligence technologies.

The Russian delegation's proposal to include a provision on artificial intelligence received unanimous support from international counterparts. Addressing this topic within the framework of UNCTAD will enable a comprehensive assessment of the risks AI poses to competition, the current antitrust responses in place, and will support efforts to improve them.

Additionally, the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Competition selected the development of competition in global food supply chains as a priority area for study in 2026. This topic is of particular importance within the activities of the BRICS Working Group for the Research of Competition Issues in Food Markets, which includes the participation of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia.

At the initiative of the Service and with broad support from most competition authorities, the final resolution also included a provision on continuing the work of the UNCTAD Working Group on Cross-Border Cartels. This group was established in 2020 at the initiative of the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service.
