The deal will be the largest in Prosus' history.

Investment company Prosus NV (the international arm of South Africa's Naspers) has reached an agreement to buy Dutch food delivery service Just Eat Takeaway.com for €4.1 billion ($4.3 billion).

According to a press release, Prosus is offering 20.30 euros per share. The offer is unanimously supported by Just Eat's management and supervisory board.

Amsterdam-based Just Eat Takeaway.com operates in 17 international markets, connecting 61 million customers with more than 356 000 local partners.

Prosus already holds a 28% stake in leading food delivery company Delivery Hero, 4% of Chinese food delivery company Meituan, and 25% of Indian online food company Swiggy.

Prosus Chief Executive Officer Fabricio Bloisi said in January that the company has close to $20 billion to spend and is ready to grow in Europe.

According to Bloomberg, Bloisy has extensive experience in the delivery sector. He previously built up Brazil’s iFood to the biggest online food-delivery company in the country.

“Prosus fully supports our strategic plans and its extensive resources will help to further accelerate our investments and growth across food, groceries, fintech and other adjacencies,”

Jitse Groen, CEO and founder of Just Eat Takeaway.com, said in a statement on Monday.

The merger is expected to be finalized by the end of this year.
