8th BRICS International Competition Conference

From 11 to 13 October, New Delhi (India) hostув the 8th BRICS International Competition Conference organized by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) with the support of the competition authorities of all BRICS member countries. The theme of this year's conference: "New Issues in Competition Law and Policy • Dimensions • Perspective • Challenges."

The conference was attended by world-renowned competition experts and delegates from competition authorities, including from non-BRICS countries.

Alexey Ivanov, Director of the International BRICS Competition Law and Policy Centre, spoke at the session entitled "Sustainability and Climate change: New Dimensions in Competition Law." (Read more)

The conference, hosted biennially by the BRICS competition authorities, provides a platform for promoting cooperation, experience sharing and mutual learning amongst the competition authorities of BRICS countries. The 8th edition of the conference comprised three plenary sessions and four breakout sessions on the following themes:

  • BRICS Joint Documents (Leniency Programme & Digital Economy Reports)
  • New Issues in Competition Law and Policy in the BRICS Countries
  • Promoting Soft law Tools to Create a Pro-competitive Environment in the Markets
  • Competition Analysis in Digital Economy: Big Technologies and Algorithms
  • Sustainability and Climate change: New Dimensions in Competition Law
  • Role of Market Studies in Emerging Competition Issues
  • Challenges in Merger Control: International Perspective
