Roundtable entitled

On October 31, the Roundtable entitled "Carbon Farming in Kazakhstan: Unlocking the Opportunity" was be held in Astana (Kazakhstan). The event was co-organized by the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), the International BRICS Competition Law and Policy Centre, The HSE Centre for Technology Transfer and the TALAP Center for Applied Research. The roundtable was organized with the support of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).

The event continued the discussion started at the conference last year. Key experts in the field, representatives of partner UN agencies and scientific organizations discussed the prospects of carbon farming and carbon market as the most important elements of climate and environmental policy of Kazakhstan, which can not only make a significant contribution to the implementation of the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060, but also act as an important incentive for socio-economic development and modernization of the country.
