The regional offices of FAS Russia sent requests to companies producing chicken eggs about the formation of prices for manufactured products. Based on the data obtained, the authority will analyze the validity of setting wholesale and selling prices. This work is already underway in the regions.
The authority also requested information from 10 federal retail chains on the weekly dynamics of weighted average purchase and retail prices for chicken eggs.
According to Rosstat, since the beginning of the year, egg prices have increased by 21.16%. In the week from October 31 to November 7, 2023 their cost increased by 2.4%. It was noted that in 47 subjects of the Russian Federation eggs rose in price by 0.1-3%, in 35 subjects - by 3.1-7.5%. "Izvestia" writes that in recent weeks prices for these products have increased in Astrakhan, Volgograd, Sverdlovsk, Novosibirsk, Orenburg, Omsk, Rostov, Kaliningrad regions and other regions.
