According to him, the opening ceremony of the new department took place in Beijing at about 09:00 local time. It will be located in the building where the State Administration for Market Control of the PRC is located.
Gan Lin became the head of the antitrust structure, formerly the deputy head of the state administration for market control.
In August, Chinese President Xi Jinping, speaking at a meeting of the party committee on the comprehensive deepening of reforms, said that the Chinese government would restrain market monopolization and pursue a policy to protect the interests of small and medium-sized businesses. According to him, the competent state bodies of China should promote the formation of highly effective mechanisms of a market economy of a socialist type in the country.
