The Eurasian Economic Commission received statements regarding the potential signs of violation of antimonopoly legislation by Yandex and Mail.ru.

According to the statements, these companies are abusing their dominant position and violating Article 76 of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union on general competition rules. The complaint was filed by the Association of Copyright Holders, Licensors and Licensees for the Protection of Copyright on the Internet.

At the moment, the Commission is considering the development of draft proposals on taking actions aimed at eliminating signs of violation of general rules of competition, and the implementation of measures that will resolve the dispute and help restore competition in the relevant markets on mutually beneficial terms without investigations and imposing fines.

Yandex called the claims of Association of Copyright Holders, Licensors and Licensees for the Protection of Copyright on the Internet groundless. "We are sure that there are no grounds for such claims here. As we have said more than once, search engines should not know or determine the legal status of content posted by third parties via links," - the company commented on the situation.

Mail.ru Group (MRG) has not received notifications from the Eurasian Economic Commission about the antimonopoly claims of the rightsholders, said the representative of the Internet holding Sergey Luchin in is the response to RIA News - "At the moment, we have not received any notifications about such a statement. The issue of relations with AZAPI obviously lies outside the plane antitrust regulation, so such an appeal seems strange to us. "
