Ride-hailing service DiDi will stop operating in the Russian and Kazakh markets from March 4.

"We at DiDi see our mission as making everyday life more convenient, which means offering the best possible services to our passengers and partners. Unfortunately, we can no longer provide this in Russia, which is why DiDi will cease to operate here from March 4, 2022. We want to thank all the drivers and passengers who have supported us since the launch. You can continue to use DiDi as usual until March 4",

the statement said.

The decision is due to "changing market conditions and other challenges". Despite the end of operations in Russia and Kazakhstan, DiDi will continue focusing on development of presence and investments in Latin American states and certain markets of the Asia-Pacific Region, the Middle East and Africa

DiDi started working on the Russian market in November 2020, the first city of presence being Kazan. Later, the Chinese ride-hailing aggregator was launched in 37 more cities.
